Hi Guys, I have just received my COPR. I am currently working in Dubai ( Presales) and would like settle in Canada ASAP. I have been applying for the last one month and no success so far.

I am planning to quit in my company in Dubai and would like to go to Canada and search while in Canada. Is that correct decision? I am single and planning to marry soon ( Feb 2017) and 28 years old.

That is really a BAD BAD Decision.please do not leave your current job unless you got a new job in Canada. You can get a JOB once you are a PR. so make the decision wisely .

I propose that if you can land for a month or two, assess that market for jobs and if you're persuaded stay on. Leaving your job immediately may not be the best idea. Come and get a feel before you move. After all once you land you have some time to return to meet your residency obligations .

You are just 28.... and unmarried... You can take the risk to restart your life... Its v rare that you will get the job by staying in your comfort zone.

Idealy, look out for some courses to take in your field from Canada. Rather jumping into the market to look out for job, get the relative canadian study certificates. If you already have 4 years of education then can take admission in 1 year MBA too. You will get loan from OSAP for that

Is there anyone here from New Brunswick? I'm just starting my post graduate study there for Network Administration but still no idea about the IT industry there, specially in Moncton. :-[ any advice?

Haven't been in this thread for a while now. Glad to see people are finding information on this thread helpful.

The job market hasn't been that good here in Edmonton, and in Alberta in general, but with Keystone XL being approved, it looks to be picking up. In the last month, some of the IT contractors I work with here in the government sector have packed up and left for their old jobs in Fort Mac, they are being recalled by their old bosses, leaving more (and better) jobs for us locals.

Lots of BA and PM jobs, some high level architect and manager jobs, and the ocassional QA job here and there. Would be a good idea to hook up with a recruiter (Randstad, Teema, Robert Half, Design Staffing, Eagle, Inteqna, to start), and try to get into a govt. sector job as much as possible. I got into the City on a 3 month contract, and now I am on my 2nd year and still going on the next extension. :)

Hi Rishabh/Everyone,

Thank you for all the information you have shared so far. I have got the ITA and I am in the process of filing my PR application. I am planning to look for jobs in Canada simultaneously. Could you please share your Canadian CV format as a sample on my email id (barge.priyesh@gmail.com). I am into information security (NOC 2171) with 5 years of experience.

That's some sound advice from Rishab here! Kudos to your post. :)

However, looks like the thread is not very alive. Wondering if Rishab got tired of sending his C.V. format to all :)))! But if at all you come, please share your C.V. on my ID too :)

It's mygeneralmailid@gmail.com.

Thanks in advance :)!

Hello everybody,

I am with NOC 2171. I have been working as a Business Analyst since 4+ years. Prior to that I was a software developer (6+ yrs). I was wondering if anyone out here can advice:- Are there any specific certifications that one should do to get a good job as BA in Canada?
