It is ok to hire a related/sister caregiver?

Hello everyone...I'm new in this forum and im glad i found this site, hoping it will give me some ideas if i can hire my sister from the Phils. as caregiver for my baby.

In my application for LMO, my husband and I are the employers.

In the application for working visa it would be fine to tell the immigration that we are sisters?

Would appreciate any replies...thanks in advance

Also, my sister's caregiver training and OJT was long time ago, sometime in 2006, should any expiration for the caregiver training?

Her experience for caregiver was sometime in 2007, her experience would be enough?

You can hire your sister as caregiver. It isn't prohibit by cic. Be truthful, don't lie. Your relativeness doesn't affect application. But your sister must meet certain requirements for LIC Program http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/caregiver/apply-who.asp and you should have good income for hiring her.

Yeah, I have a problem with her experience or training I guess..in your link it says:

At least six months’ training or at least one year of full-time paid work experience as a caregiver or in a related field or occupation (including six months with one employer) in the past three years
To claim work experience, you need to have worked for one year, including at least six months of continuous employment for the same employer. This work experience must be in a field or occupation specific to what you will do as a live-in caregiver. This experience must have been acquired within the three years immediately before the day on which you make an application for a work permit as a caregiver.

To claim training, it must have been full-time training in a classroom setting. Areas of study could be early childhood education, geriatric care, pediatric nursing or first aid.

She had her training 5 years ago, she has an her experience it was 5 years ago also, taking care of my niece, not sure if that would consider as experience, but she was paid by my sister for that.

Do you think I should ask her to take another training program for childhood education, geriatric care, pediatric nursing or first aid?

Yes - she'll need to take a six month training course to qualify. Her previous training and experience was too long ago.
