Hi Everybody,

I have been following this forum from last one year, but this is my first post. :) :)

People with IT experience, especially with services companies, I need your help.

I have following two queries:
---------------First Query--------
Is there any way to show bench period in the work experience section? As I was not in any project during that time, and the new project that I got after bench period was completely different from my previous project (My NOC gets change to 5121 from 2174 after bench period).

---------------First Query---------

---------------Second Query---------
The work experience letter does not specify from which date I was in the project that had NOC 5121 job responsibilities. Work experience letter contains a mix of 2171 and 5121 job responsibilities.

Is there any alternative way to support my claim that I was in 5121 job?

--------------Second Query----------

Thanks in advance. Really appreciate the answers. :) :)

My feelings: If you're still getting paid while you're on the bench then that should still count as work experience if you're with the same company. So I personally wouldn't even bother differentiating between bench and non-bench periods of time. If you work experience letters contains duties for both NOCs then you should be able to just choose the NOC that you want to apply for PR with. This is a tricky question..lol.

I want to be sure on this part as I can see many people are getting rejected due to ambiguous letter of experience. There are total five duties that are mentioned in experience letter, 3 are for 2174 and 2 are for 5121. I have equally worked on both NOCs, but at different duration, and that is the missing part in the letter of experience. It is nowhere mentioned in the letter of experience that I have worked in for particular duration for different projects.

Is there any way I can support that I have worked in two different NOCs in the same company?

I think you could get such a letter, but it would be difficult to write. On the company letterhead, etc., I would write that you have been continuously employed at this company from X date to X date. Then, underneath, I would write, "As a senior software engineer (NOC 2174), while engaged on projects from X date to X date, Mr/Ms ABC performed these duties. As a Whatever (NOC 5121) on projects extending from this date to this date, s/he performed these duties, and had these responsibilities."

Just be sure that you have at least one year of continuous experience in one of the qualifying NOCs and you should be good.

Honestly, I would write the letter this way, rather than take the chance that a tired VO would look at your 5 job responsibilities and decide it wasn't close enough to one of the NOCs.

Getting it on a company letter head will be difficult for me, as I am not working in the same company. I left the company 4 years ago. Is there any other way around? I have total 8 years of experience, of which 4 years continuous work experience in 5121, which is after leaving my first job. It is my first job that has the ambiguous work experience letter.

Life always creates some obstacles. I am getting nervous as I don't want to loose the Canadian Dream. :(:(

Can't you just use that job specifically (highlighted) as the work experience required for your PR application and apply under NOC 5121? You should be able to put the other job your not sure about in your personal history. Any feedback would be appreciated. Not quite sure how it works for FSW

Thanks riddymon.

I am applying under NOC 5121 only. But I am confused about what to do about my first job, the project I worked for were real. But I can't prove it with the documents I have. Every document I have is a genuine one from the employer.

What I will be do is that I will add the NOC 2174 and NOC 5121 as exactly as I know for the first job. The next 4 years will be added under NOC 5121.
Any suggestions of feedback is appreciated.
