Is this normal? Applied for parents to visit for grandchild visit.
Yes, it is normal. We have come across similar cases. This could happen when IRCC is not convinced that an applicant will adhere to the conditions for a visitor visa.

Normally, parents of citizens/PRs are issued long-validity TRVs. Maybe their applications mentioned about wanting to take care of their grandchild.... or maybe it is because of their country of residence? Just guesses

Is mentioning grandparents visiting for grandchild birth a negative thing? We thought it would make the trip more valid. What’s the best reason to submit for next time when inviting parents of citizen/pr

It would seem like the visitor will be working illegally.

IMO, it's best if they visit for a month max. even if they are allowed to stay for 6 months. Don't apply to extend their stay. This will indicate they have adhered to their visa conditions. It would help for their next visa application[/QUOTE]

There are people in Canada who actually get hired to do this , assisting with a new addition to a family . A family hires them, sets up a caregiver payroll account , and submits deductions to the government on behalf of the employee So yes, in the eyes of the federal government, it is insurable work

What reasons can we use for parents to visit PR/Canadian citizen family for future visits?

Should we just invite them for a tourist visit for next time? Vacation rather than any family events. Because they would like to visit every 6 months for 1 month to see grandchild.
