Issue with Transit Code Nova Scotia Bank GIC 9 digits

I received an email from the Nova Scotia Bank that the transit code is TRANSIT 35972. The bank which I go to (HDFC) is asking for a 9 digit code. So what should I provide the bank with?

I contacted Nova Scotia Bank and they said the transit number is just 5 digits

Can anyone help me out on this ??

Bank can use swift and or routing number and funds will be applied to beneficiary account.
Transit is combination of Branch number and Institution number, in this case is 002. It should read 35972-002 and you should be fine provided beneficiary account number is there on the swift copy.

Exactly !!! That's what I did recently to transfer the amount. yet to be credited.
