Hi,
Has anyone here experience sponsoring minor childrens from his wife's previous marriage. She has full custody of the children, but do not have consent from previous father. Has anyone else been in the same situation and how have they tackled it. Since the previous was very violent, getting any letter from previous father is impossible. The court document says full custody but does not write specific about travel scenarios.

Any suggestion will be useful

It depends somewhat on country. Ideal would be check with a lawyer about getting some kind of document that 'full custody' in country means that custodial parent has all rights to make decisions for the child, choices of where to live up to and including leaving country permanently (or to that effect). Or whatever you can get, really.

You may not need this at time of application but look into as could be asked later.

And yes, in some countries 'full custody' is not complete and the other parent will often retain some residual rights unless specified or in some specific circumstances (eg deprivation of parental rights by decree of court).

So answer does depend on what is meant by full custody in country's practice.

Obviously better would be consent but not always possible.
