Is there any problem for new international students arriving at Montreal airport? I've heard visa officers there are unreasonably tough.

My course starts in Fall, my university is in Nova Scotia so the closest airport is Montreal. I'm travelling on 14th August. What all documents I should carry?

P.S can anybody share their Montreal immigration experience? Preferably students

Thanks!

I connected through Montreal three times, first time in 2016, second time 2017 bringing my family and last time 2018. All these times, officers were wonderful, asked few questions, and helped us with some paperwork. If you ask me between LBPIA and YUL, I would say Montreal was far better at POE than YYZ in terms of questioning. But again they don't just pick random questions, but your profile give what to ask apart from general immigration questions. You just need to be prepared. if you are connecting to NS, YUL sounds right for you.

Heard recently there have been people deported... Thats why i was worried
CBSA don't just deport people randomly. Only if there is reason of misrepresentation or ineligibility of entry into Canada. For example if the applicant hide information on their study permit application or if the border officer finds discrepancies in the applicant's information.

Can anyone advise me, my university is in Nova Scotia, I'm landing in Montreal first. I'm planning to first travel to New Brunswick to a relative who will drive and drop me at Nova Scotia.

Will it be a problem if im carrying onwards ticket to New Brunswick and not Nova Scotia?
