Hi everyone,

I have created this forum to discuss all the options we have on the table and share our stories.

Is your PGWP expiring soon and you can't extend it? Please share all the options you have to help other people whom going through the same experience..

PGWP expiring at 28th Feb 2017.

Technically Options I have

1) LMIA : Employer thinks it's easier to replace person then to apply and process LMIA. Maybe my persuading skills are not good. So NOT GETTING LMIA.

2) PNP : not enough time for PNPs.

3) Visitor or Study Permit : not wiling to waste money.

4) Spouse Education : I can send my wife to college for study and apply dependent work permit on basis of that, again waste of money and not 100% surety that it's gonna work out as expected

So Only Option I am left with is either I get lucky and CRS drops below 483 within next two draw so I become eligible for BOWP, or else Pack my bags and take a break from this snow.

Main is expiring in Feb too.

CRS 440 with spouse

So, my options are:

1) Retake my CELPIP and max the scores all 9s leads to CRS 500+
2) Apply for extend my PGWP eventhough I know it will gets denied, just to buy sometime hoping to get the PNP.
3) Apply for visitor visa to restore my status, which also buy me sometime hoping to get selected.
4) Apply for H&C which might take 33-44 months (processing time) because I can't go back to my home county.

Long story short If I don't score all 9s in January, I'm screwed :-\

Thinking of making a work permit extension paper application which might take like 4 - 5 months to process so that I can work under implied status until then .

That's truth paper application takes longer, but I'm not sure what kind of proof you have to show to your employer in order to keep working.

That's such amateur thing to do. Restoring status from Implied is complicated then you think, besides as far as I know you can't get PR while you are on implied status.

And not all employer will allow to work on implied status. that's again waste of money.

I heard they are most likely to deny your study permit application if they see you already had a PSWP and is expiring?

(Well, cause they know what we all are trying to do going back to school after PSWP lol)

Nah, my friend did the same thing with his study.. he finished his PGWP and continue to get his master with a new study permit. but unfortunately he didn't have any canadian experience, so he has to go home. Now I'm just thinking which school I want to take since it's not cheap. it'll be around 15k-25k per year. :S

475 points expire march 2018. Any option?

It will most likely be too late to restore status in this case. CIC is now rejecting (rather than refusing) work permit extensions and BOWPs for people who don't qualify (this is something new they've recently started doing - presumably because they became sick of people apply when they don't qualify). When an application is rejected, you go out of status on the day your work permit originally expired - not the day the refusal letter was recieved. So if it takes 4-5 to process, far too late to apply for restoration by then. Also, no implied status. So any work completed from the time the original work permit expired isn't considered legal and can't be counted as work experience.

That's exactly my point. Better to go home spend some time with family and wait for PR.
