Is your citizen application delayed for security checks?

Whaaaaaaat? I thought they only did that bs on pr applications.
 
check your free ATIP if they require clearance after Test and interview. It's very rare for them to require further background check after T & I. But it happens by following reasons.

Your name might match a scum, or you simply not truthful.

Citizenship application background check is straight forward and they only do Municipal & RCMP both available in RCMP, Those checks are very swift same day same time result.

I checked my ATIP and results of pass are same day same time.

or simply you are under investigation after application for citizenship.

Dude contact your MP and do an online enquiry about your application
This is aboslutely not normal

Hi. I know that government require police certificates when you apply for PR, but can you please tell me if government requty police certificates again when you apply for citizenship? Because I want to travel and I don’t know if I should chance it or not (so far I didn’t go anywhere since I got PR). If they will require my police certificates again it’s to long process to get them. Especially the one from China. Thank you!

I think within the last 4 years immediately preceeding your application date for citizenship, if you spent 183 days or more in another country (other than Canada), you must provide a police certificate. You must also provide a police certificate for each country where you spent 183 days or more, if you travel and stayed in several countries

Does the security check process start after IRCC request for FB or it starts after passing the test exam or when the application turn to IP?
Does anyone know?

Nothing for sure but i think it starts the time your file go IP

I am from Novmber and my age 60 years i did just interview last two weeks just ten minutes and the offcer said all go i called cic he told i passed interview if we need some documents we call you i check online still in procces any idea please

Dude get a lawyer involved and pursue this. Don’t wait around anymore.
 
Hi guys, just saw this thread, not sure if anyone is active here but if you are please let me know if anyone is in the same boat as Iam and guide me as well.
I gave my test in August 2019 and during the interview I was told that all good only one clearance (also for me only not other family members) is pending and as soon as they receive it, I and my family will be called for oath. They said the delays are normally due to workload at the other party’s end who does clearance. It’s now more than 4 months and i haven’t heard from them and my ecas still says IP while wife’s is DM. I sent the web inquiry but received standard response that they are processing the file. I wonder if any one else is/was in the same boat and any suggestions?
