I have 10 years work experience after my graduation that i completed in 2005.
i studied advertising and my work experience is also in advertising and media marketing.

Now i am planning to study further in advertising/ marketing and hence want to apply for study visa.

Please let me know if i am eligible as its a 10 year gap in studies though i have work experience in those years.

Yes. It is possible but the program of study must be justifiable.

You cannot go for a basic PG diploma from someplace because those courses are to prepare fresh graduates to enter the job market.

Score an admit from a University for a master's or an MBA and you'll get the study permit

Hi Meval, I came to Canada back in 2013 and had an experience of 8 Years (Completed Graduation in 2006), Did Post Graduate Diploma for 2 Yrs.

Now I have a good job, better then the most of my classmates who had no or very less experience...

You just have to ensure that you show the Work experience from right after the graduation till the day you apply so that there is no gap, and working after completing graduation is very common here in Canada, I have couple of friends who are way older then me and they took a break from working to do their PG Diploma when they had some money saved for their PG Diploma/MBA,

I am not in line with what harvijay mentioned as MBA is very costly specially for an Int'l student, if you look at any Good University then you are easily looking at 90K+ for 2 Years tuition.

Just ensure that you show them the proof that there was no gap, and you were not sitting ideal after your graduation, Give them the joining letter (Offer letter), confirmation letter, Salary Slips (pay Stubs), also include additional documents if you have any.

Hope that helps, I did it 3 Years back and I am here working on PGWP as if now, Hope you get it too....

Best of luck for the processing...

Errrrrrm, I didn't mention any specifics per say. I did not say DO AN MBA!

I mentioned the need for doing a relevant and justifiable degree, if that turns out to be a PG diploma then so be it.

But just an example, a well established senior grade software engineering wanting to do a pg diploma in computer programming technology is not justifiable.

And since you quoted numbers, only Rotman and Shulich and Ivey or some of the top B schools have MBA for 90k.

Everywhere else it's much cheaper. Mostly in the range of 30k to 60k which comes under reasonable for an MBA degree

@Harvijay, If I am not mistaken then the OP mentioned that he has been working in Advertising and Marketing, Where did this established senior grade software engineering came into the picture from.... Also, If you read my Post I specifically mentioned "GOOD University"

keeping it specific to the query....

I definitely am not mistaken about anything. I read it very clearly.

If you can read, I wrote "But just as an EXAMPLE"...

Let me interpolate it for you for the OP's context.

"A well established senior grade advertiser wanting to do a pg diploma in advertising is not justifiable"

Hope that's specific enough for you.

As for GOOD UNIVERSITY, I'd say HEC Montreal and John Molson are pretty GOOD business schools which do not create a sinkhole for one's pocket.
