I have been going through the visa application for Canada and during that it asked that is work an essential part of your studies?
As I am going for MSc research, what should I write in that question?
As I'll have to do research as a part of my study.
Apologies for the naive question but can anyone please clarify?
Please help me out.
If I say no, would it have any problems while flying to Canada?

"NO"
work is not an essential part of your studies.

Unless your admission letter indicates that "co-op" is a requirement for your program, then work is NOT an essential part of your studies. Your research is study not work.
