Is travelling for work going to affect my PR application?

Hello all,

Hope everyone is doing fine. I have a Canadian Work Permit which I obtained after graduating from a Canadian University from being an International Student.

My work requires me to travel a lot. Sometimes I have to be in a specific country (out of Canada and not US) for 3-4 months due to project integration and so on. I will soon be extending my work permit and hoping to apply for a PR (Express Entry/Canadian Experience Class or whichever one is most eligible for me). My concern is will I get into trouble when I apply for PR for travelling a lot because I am on Canadian Work Permit.

I have a Work Permit which is valid for 2 years but expiring Feb 2016. I will be renewing my Work Permit in a couple weeks. I will get a new Temporary Resident Visa soon as well. I will also have any other countries' visa that is required for my travel.

What I would like to know is that if I can travel for work purposes to other countries and work there for a couple of months. This might happen a couple of times. I am employed by a Canadian Company. The employee will provide me a letter for the reason of my travels. I will also have a valid work permit and a valid temporary resident visa before I travel. I will also be paying my taxes to the Canadian government.

Yes- I tend to worry quite abit when it comes to this.

No - this won't be an issue when applying for PR. Note that you won't be able to count the time you spend working on projects outside of Canada as Canadian work experience. This will be classified as foreign work experience

Don't agree. I think it will still be counted as Canadian work experience.

Foreign Work Experience even if I am employed by a Canadian company and paying taxes and all that in Canada? What happens if you work for a global company and you have to travel for various projects to various countries?

P.S- I do not mean to come off as rude, I am just confused and scared. I do not want lose a good opportunity and at the same I do not want to put myself in a risky position. Thank you.

it will be considered as Canadian experience itself. Don't worry.

So I should have no problems in applying for my PR while I travel frequent for my work? Correct?

i believe that if you are employed by a Canadian company and get paid in Canadian dollars, you will be fine.
