Would I be able to visit my husband in Canada? We haven't file as yet....but we really need to spend sometime together...and all his vacation days has been used up.

You should apply for a visitor visa in your country. There is nothing wrong for visiting if you get a visa.

What country are you from? If you're visa exempt, it shouldn't be a problem. If you're not, it can be difficult to get a visitor's visa once you're married to a Canadian citizen.

hi!sorry to interrupt, i have a question too. im a PR in here in canada. my wife is american citizen, she wants to visit me but she's afraid to be denied of entry. what is the best thing for her to do? and also, we are planning to apply PR for her.is it better that she comes here first before starting the application?will that lessen the risk of being denied of entry?coz if we applied already, the immigration will think that she is planning to live here obviously and might not go back to the states.

She can visit you, getting denied is possible but unlikely. If you have already applied, is shows that you're doing everything above board--why bother filling out all that paperwork and paying all that money if you're just going to sneak into the country illegally?

If you haven't finished filling out your application, but have paid the fees, she can take a copy of the receipt. This still shows intention to do everything legally.

I had heard that getting a visitor visa after you put in your immigration application is easier. But I have heard others saying it is not the case. So I'm not sure whether it is worth the extra effort. I guess also it depends on how long it will take to process the app. I'm not sure it is worth the time or expense if the application will be processed relatively quickly. Has anyone done this and was it worth it?

Yes, I've heard it put both ways as well. As a previous poster said, applying for a visitor visa after a PR visa shows that you're honest and plan to do it right. BUT, I've also heard some people say you're more of an over-stay risk to them, because they see that you want to live in Canada and if you get it in, you may just stay.

So no one truly knows - it probably depends on the visa official and how he/she views the situation, as well as your ties to your home country, etc. Good luck either way.
