Good day,
Please i want to find out if it's true that international students with just Bsc. can't get a masters direct program in Canada.
I was told by an immigration agency that i have to do a diploma or graduate certificate program in Canada before i can be admitted for a masters program.
I want to find out if this is true.
Thanks.

Bro it depends ,, if ur BSc was 2 years then u won't be eligible because in Canada for masters ,,it is necessary to have 16 years of education,,,

Cumon' Stop believing everything what the consultant/ agent tells you. Get the E-mail of your desired university/ college from their website and E-mail them your queries. OR try calling them in office hours.

Hello... You need to provide us with more information regarding your BSc ( is it 3 or 4 year program?). By not doing this you will get mixed responses from the people on this forum.

If you have completed a 4 year BSc Degree, then your consultant is wrong - you can directly apply to any university/college in Canada along with certain other requirements like IELTS.

If you have completed a 3 year BSc Degree (also very common in India and Pakistan), your consultant is correct. There are hardly any universities or colleges that will admit you directly into a Masters program with a 3 year undergraduate degree. Therefore it is suggested to complete a total of 4 years of education (after high school); hence one extra year of diploma or degree from Canada or your home country. This requirement is a must for most North American Universities ( they dont admit you into a Masters progam even if you have 3 Years bachelors from UK or other European countries).
There might be exceptions to this - like some smaller colleges or private institutions.

Hope this helps and also provides info to others commenting here.
