Is this the "last" thing they could possibly request before granting PR?

My husband was just called by the Cdn Embassy in Lima to come and pick up his (expired) passport, get it renewed and get it back to them. Everything else is renewed and up to date, is there ANYTHING else they will request? Is this the last possible step before granting the PR?
Thanks for any knowledge of this any of you might have!

Assuming the medical hasn't has to be redone, then this should be it.

Thanks very much PMM !!
Medical was redone beginning of Feb along with police records so those must be fine if they are now asking for the passport to be renewed.
After 18 months I can finally have hope that there won't be "one more thing" to wait on and this will soon be behind us!!!!!!

Re: Is the PR completed at Embassy office or back in Canada?

I am so pessimistic of the process another possibility that might delay things has come to my mind.
Once they have been given his renewed passport, where exactly is the final PR prepared? Does a package have to be sent back to Canada (further delay) for something more to be done and then returned to Cdn Embassy in Lima or does the issuing Embassy office finalize everything right there in Lima? Thanks for the additional info.

As far as I know they will give you your husband his passport back with a Visa, once he has that he can go to canada and LAND, his PR card will be ready within a Month of the time he lands, but he's officialy a PR since he lands

Raven,
Thanks so much, it sounds like they do it there at the Embassy location then and it won't be all that much longer. After this long, a few or several more weeks is at least is an end in sight.
I did know that the Landed Immigrant ID card is mailed afterwards once here, so the visa they will issue is the document to travel with to get here.
thanks for eveyone's info.
