1601 Bayshore Dr,
Vancouver, BC V6G 2V4, Canada. Offering me for a position of Receptionist cum Secretary for a monthly salary of 3,200 Canadian Dollars plus 500 for weekly allowance with 30days annual paid leave. Please help, as the offer is sounds to good to be true. Thanks is advance.

As above it is a scam. Did you even check out the website which by the way was only registered 11/13 a usual sure indicator a cloned site for a scam.

Most of the site does not even work and the pictures do not really represent the supposed location at all, the address just has a view of Vancouver harbour/marina certainly not the Pacific ocean as depicted on the site.

Unfortunately in Canada the laws are EXTREMELY lax.

The police also cannot be bothered to investigate any crime that does not involve bodily injury and death.

So the criminals are somewhat encouraged to try.

The privacy laws are also such that the police cannot even question somebody unless they already have overwhelming evidence. (Chicken or egg isn't it?) Which is why so many crimes happen and go unpunished.

AND......even if they do prosecute successfully, the punishment is a slap on the wrist. Most criminals are out within a few months.

Crime is rampant in Canada (non assault injury and murder, rape). Theft, robbery without injury, break ins, hit and runs.......thousands every single day and the police cannot be bothered. They will show up file the paperwork and be done with it. If you ask them they will say, oh it is just a robbery. No one was hurt. Be thankful.

As has been stated a few times, the scammers are NOT in Canada, nor are the victims. It has nothing to do with Canada. People need to seek police assistance in their own countries.

Those are scams with victims in Canada. The job scammers and victims are outside of Canada.

I've had my car broken into and the police were great about it. Fingerprinted the car, kept me updated and let me know when the guy was caught.

Calgary Police DO NOT fingerprint. LOL! That was when I had my car broken into as well.

I also had my car hit and run just outside my house. I found the people responsible using video from my neighbors. Unfortunately the footage cannot pick up the plates. The people also got rid of their van. The way the Calgary Police work is the constable who first took your case is the ONLY person who will do anything. Unfortunately the constable kept saying that there isnt enough evidence for her to even talk to the people. And kept saying it is likely they have no insurance either so it does me no good even if she does.

She also said that in Alberta the vehicle registration and insurance is kept separate. So people will have insurance when they renew registration then cancel the insurance the day after.

You can't generalize the actions of every police force across Canada based on your personal experience.

I can share my personal experiences though. And I am not alone on this. Is Calgary part of Canada? Or are we going to have to be specific about city and provinces rather than say Canada?

In any case, the article from CBC on the scammer in BC and the comments from the RCMP resonated with me because it sounded so familiar.

It is wise not to divulge personal information in public spaces because identity theft and scamming is a problem across Canada from what I have read. Even in BC.
