I got email from someone saying that they are a canadian company and willing to hire engineers to be working for startups in the US but working from canada... anyone heard about this? My red flag on this feels like they have tie up with canada govt.

the complete email content is below

"Hi Mr.D
My name is Reid and I'm the Head of Operations at Mobsquad. we are a canadian company currently hiring top-tier software engineers, data engineers, and data scientists. Our employees are based in canada, and they are paired with the U.S based start-ups on an exclusive, long-term basis. By doing this, we are combining the wonderful quality of life and immigration system that canada offers with the technical opportunities of top silicon valley startups.
Beyond offering high-quality jobs, we also offer full-service immigration. We have partnered with the canadian govt to get successsful candidates into canada in as little as four weeks and they each have a clear path to permanent residency status or canadian citizenship.

if any of this sounds interesting it would be great to hear from you.

Thanks Mr.D

-Reid"

Don't think it's fake. Here's a WaPo article on them.

The 4 weeks thing would be the temp work permit thru the Global Talent Stream program and I assume it would go on till you get the PR.

Also, did some digging, they seem to have received funding from the government.

Also, the person who reached out seems legit, check the startup info here

IMO the following section means there's a probability this is a scam:

"Beyond offering high-quality jobs, we also offer full-service immigration. We have partnered with the canadian govt to get successsful candidates into canada in as little as four weeks and they each have a clear path to permanent residency status or canadian citizenship."

Remember that the company may be real - but this doesn't necessarily mean that the person who is reaching out to you isn't a scammer.

Adding to my comment above, Reid is the co-founder. The company has around 10K employees. There is zero chance he is involved in recruitment - he has people who do this for him. Also, it's not a Canadian company - it's a U.S. based company that has recently stood up offices in Canada.

OP, just out of curiosity, was the email from the company's domain or gmail etc.?

Asking because their openings are closely related to my work experience, might as well apply and see what happens. :D

If it came from anywhere but their company's domain - that will guarantee this is fake. Domain is @mobsquad.io

Confirmed that it's from @mobsquad.io domain. Got a request for a video interview after I applied. So far, they seem legit.

That's good news - but email addresses are of course quite easily faked. Hopefully it's still real. Warning signs this is fake include asking for money, promising to pay for travel / accommodation / food, anything more than 3 weeks of holidays per year.

Yup, will keep a lookout for the usual red flags and proceed with caution.

Hi,

I want to be seek help from you, I have received an Offer of Employment from Albetta Agency.

The offer is for work in Canada with great package. Is this offer a legal recruitment or Fake.

As they have asked to pay legal fee for immigration.

Below are their details

Mr Charles Baldwin
Phone: +1(587-906-8466)
facebook account: https://web.facebook.com/charlesbaldwin7234
Site: http://www.albettaagency.com
Share the offer here with personal details removed but as per previous posts this ‘agency’ is thought to be suspect. Any job offering free flights, accomodation, food and even transport is likely not genuine. Did you notice the contact us number on the website is not same as above ?
