But by that time , the applicant was just 7-8 years old ane he didnt even had his own passport , it was combined with his parents passport ... And the rejection was done on the parents passport , not on his passport ... Since his name was under his parents passport so the father applied collectively .. But the applicant himself didnt apply !!!

Well if you want to go to in and outs then its better to discuss with lawyer. I am saying about a simplified version which I would have adopt. How they do security checks no one knows about that but yes they run things based on your name.

Remember you don't have to satisfy yourself but the visa officer and if they are saying misinterpretation seeing the linkedin profile then you can expect anything.

I had the similar case my wife was the main applicant this time and I just overlooked this question while filling my part in application and tick no for any past refusal which was basically in correct I got rejected twice once in 2010 and then in 2012 .The visa officer has ask us to provide reason for this misinterpretation and also warn us that this may lead to refusal .So we made it simple and provide him the correct reason that this was purely overlooked by us and was an administrative error from our side as we know that hiding such information will not add any good to our application and sincerely apologize him for this error .We also provide him whatever we had the email correspondence and some letters for the rejected application and we also mention since this was a very old case so we are providing you all the related correspondence which is available with us as this point of time . We didnt had any evidence or correspondence available for the first rejection as it got rejected in 2010 but we explain him the reason of the rejection that it was noc mismatch and whole parcel got return without having any file number .Than later on we received medical from officer after 15 days on sending this letter although he had provided us 30 days to respond to this query .The important part was that there was no file # generated for the first rejection by cic but still the visa officer had all the details for my first rejection in short they have the details for your past application even if they are rejected on first place.

As I am planning to send them this info once receive the file number so that they can track it. will it be too late then?

1) In 2010 and 2012 , you were rejected for which country ? Canada ?

2) When did you get this email from the VO ? I mean before you cleared this misconception ... you received an email from them that you misrepresented and all ... right ?

3) If so, then does this mean that for such scenarios , if someone forgot to tick YES while he was rejected sometime back for some country, then the visa officer does not simply reject the overall application but he asks for the clarification ... Or he simply rejects the application without asking ?
