Yes, that is the famous list. Also note that if you have an AEO (job offer) or you are already in Canada on a student visa or work permit for a year or more, you don't need to be on the list. They have also changed the points for IELTS a bit if you read the application guide. Also there is no more simplified and regular applications anymore.

Hi,
So as long that you have 1 year job experience(atleast) from among the list then I am fine.
You also mentioned that, "Also there is no more simplified and regular applications anymore." is that means that
application will be process by them base on the preferred lists and the rest are normal processing which would take atleast 2years for USA applicants for example.

Thanks Leon.

Actually, if you read your own link, you will see that being one of the 38, having an AEO or having been in Canada for a year and applying from within is now the new criteria. People who apply today who fulfill none of this will not be processed at "normal speed", their applications will be rejected as not meeting requirements.

People who applied under the old system, that is before Feb 27 2008 will be processed at "normal speed". The new applications should be faster but of course nobody knows yet because so far there's no experience.

The simplified and regular applications of the past was mainly about saving most people the trouble of getting documents together for applications that would be processed in 3-6 years time and would need updating anyway. Only Buffalo was using the regular application and requiring all documents up front. Now there is no more simplified and all applications will require documents up front because they are supposed to be fast enough that it will just delay them if they have to ask for documents later.

A very important point to note that there is no simplified process and all documents are required up front from now on. Is this mentioned somewhere in cic website? I want that for reference.

If you are applying inder Category 1, Federal Skilled Program, then all upfront documentation is not needed. You only need to submit the forms to Nova Scotia, canada.

Page 41-42 of Application guidance

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG7TOC.asp

states this.

Is this also a new rule that all applications corresponding to list of occupations will go to Nova Scotia? Previously we were required to submit to the Canadian High Commission in Islamabad Pakistan.

Yes and for anybody who hasn't applied yet but has been working on it, please read the new application guide at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/EG7.pdf to make sure you don't miss anything that has been changed. The mailing instructions are on page 41 in this guide.
