Hello,

I am on Student permit in a university in Canada and I want to provide *part time* computer repairing/troubleshooting services by posting advertisement on kijiji.

Questions -
1. Which mode of payment should I use? What if I use Cash only?
2. Is it legal to do such work while on study permit?

Thank you.

you will need to look on your student permit. does it ALLOW you to work, or does it NOT allow you to work? if it says you can not work, then what you are doing is considered illegal. ANY job you do where you receive payment for work performed is considered work. Technically, by placing an ad on kijiji you are taking away an opportunity from a Canadian who can do the same work.

Agreed. Also, by stating you are seeking to "take cash only", I assume you mean that you have no intention of paying any taxes on either the transactions or your resultant income. your problems may be greater than just violating the terms of your student visa in such a case.

My study permit allows me to work 20 hours per week.
there you go. so you can't bill/charge more than 20 hours of work each week, assuming you don't already have a part time job.

I faced a similar problem in the past.
this company which is also run by international students helped me out.

I AM NOT SURE IF THEY ARE STILL OPERATING THO, because it's been a while now.
