Hi,

I am seeing lot of posts by Hero / Senior members saying that the government had announced that all the applications will go through the new rules and by new rule I believe that the one that we are seeing now (those 38 job list categories..) for immigration.

Are we sure that this is the "new rule" that the government was talking about. Is there is going to be some more amendments and they are going to come back again and say "No", there had been changes and now this is the "new rule" ??

Thanks.

There are no guarantees in life. The government might get voted out in January and some people were hoping that a new government would change the rules again but apparently the leaders of those parties have said that they will keep them so I would suggest they will stick around for a couple of years at least. If you are not on the list of 38, you need a job offer to apply or you can study french and apply for QSW.

Leon - out of interest what's the deal with QSW? My French is a bit rusty but I guess with some private coaching and practice it should not take me more than 3 - 6 months to come up to scratch again. Do you need a job offer/LMO/AEO to apply for QSW? Many thanks.

PS Hope you're having a good weekend.

About QSW, it's the skilled worker for people moving to Quebec. Of course you don't have to live in Quebec forever if you do it. You don't need a job offer. See http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/quebec/index.asp for other requirements.
