Will this SOP be enough to satisfy the VO?

My name is ****, I am a 25 years old *** citizen and permanent resident. I have been residing in ***(different from country of citizenship) since July 24, 2019 with a study permit while I am studying for a master’s in mathematics.

I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics at *** in 2018. After my graduation, I was selected by the *** through campus placement and I began working with the institute as part of my social service from September 2018 to July 2019. In order for a mathematician to work at the highest level, it is necessary to obtain higher degrees, namely a master’s degree and a doctorate. For this reason I decided that it was in my best professional interest to pursue those degrees in my desired area of research (Mathematical Finance), which unfortunately was impossible to do in my home country.

In 2019 I received a scholarship from *** and decided to come to do a master’s degree from July 2019 to July 2021. As I am in my last year, a few months ago I started looking for places to do my doctorate.

After carefully reviewing all my options and discussing them with my current professors, I decided to apply to the University of Alberta. The reason for this decision was the lack of researchers in my area of interest at the ***(current university), and the presence in the Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at the University of Alberta of world leading experts in Mathematical Finance, particularly, Professor *** who’s research interest align perfectly with mine.

I have recently received a letter of admission from the University of Alberta for the Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematical and Statistical Sciences, Mathematical Finance - Full Time beginning September 1, 2021. I received a funding guarantee from the department for the duration of my studies for up to four years of *** per year. This amount would allow me to cover my tuition fees, valued at approximately $10500 CAD per year, and my living expenses.

The importance of Mathematical Finance has been increasing in my country due to the changes in the economic sector that are taking place. Since there are almost no professionals in this area in ***(home country), I think that obtaining a PhD would be very beneficial for my future career. I am allowed to return to my previous job because the time I spent working there was part of my social service. From there I can perform research and also teach others about this area of mathematics.

I am very attached to my parents. Both are citizens and permanent residents in ***(home country). Although they are residing in ***(with me) at the moment, their status is temporary and expires in the coming months so they will return to ***(home country). They obtained this status 2 years ago with the purpose to come visit me and my brother who is also studying in ***, but due to covid-19 and travel restrictions they had to extend their visit. My mother also owns a property in ***(home country), and they both have close relatives in my home country, in the case of my father, these include a son and brothers.

It's good , personal stuff and good trajectory of personal and professional growth.

I suggest you to attach proofs wherever possible against your studies and work experience.
Your income proof and your bank balance.
No need to attach your parents property and other stuff.

Best of luck
