Hi..my husband got the passport request and we sent our passport on september 14 and it says on their website that they started processing our file on sep 14. and it says medical received and in process. does that mean that my husband is getting his visa very soon?

It depends. New Delhi asks for the passport very early on in the process. Other offices don't ask for it until they have pretty well decided to give you the visa. Other offices are in between.

What office is it being processed at? OK, I see it is being processed at New Delhi, in which case the passport request doesn't mean much. New Delhi in general is a fast office, though. It could be more than 2 months. It is not a bad sign, in any case.
