I've been calling around to different doctors in Montreal to figure out where I want to get my medical exam done, and I have found a clinic that will do it for $273, including the x-rays. They will ship it and provide me with a tracking number as well. Is this a good price? Also, should I get the medical exam done BEFORE or AFTER I send in my application? They say that they will send my medical exam to Ottawa, but I plan on applying outland. Will this be a problem?

Sounds pretty reasonable, I paid £290.00 in the UK!!

On the forum people have posted the best time to do it is RIGHT BEFORE submitting your application. You have to land before it expires, or you will have to re-do it. On the other hand it will delay your process if you don't submit it together.

Here in BC I called all the medical practitioners approved in the Vancouver area and the prices were between $190 and $250, with most $225-$250. The receptionists all said that was the TOTAL price, including x-rays, but maybe they will add shipping on top when I'm there!

Thank you! Anyone else have input?

Apologies for invading this link but bright_skies when do you plan on having your medical? I am hoping to get my MR soon and myself will have to go to Vancouver so i was planning on doing the phone around soon. Be curious to see how yours goes :)

That seems to be the average price...we will be paying about 250 for our medical and xrays here in Denmark.

Hey wendyg79,
I was about to get the exam done but as we are submitting as c/law we started having doubts concerning a month we spent apart in August 2011 (we've been living together since March 2011). We decided to submit our app in September, just to be sure. If you have questions about them, I called them all and have the price quotes and note about how nice each receptionist was ;) Also notes as to far in advance to call so they could fit me in. Some promised to squeeze me in the same day!

I would be curious too to hear about you! I hope yours go swimmingly! :)

Thanks Bright_Skies. I rang 3 practioners today and wow what a difference. The first receptionist (Dr Dwyer's office) was AMAZING. Spent 5-10 mins talking to me explaining things giving me info. So helpful and $190 all included. Then i rang the next one and the conversation was literally "$250" then "OK BYE". So abrupt which turned me off. The 3rd receptionist equally as unimpressive so unless you feel differently i think Dr Dwyer might be the way to go, when the time arises :) Now i just have to wait for my MR i guess hehe

True it's cost approx £300 in UK.

Wow, right?! Dwyer's office was very helpful with me too! The only one which was less was possibly Dr. Lim, but it was a bit unclear. They have a pre-recorded message saying it would be $140 for those over 11 years. Then she said 72 for the chest x-ray and 65 for the lab... Now that equals almost 140. If it is added on top it is by far the most expensive, if not it is by far the cheapest! Their website had a lot of information about it too, but said call for the current prices; the doctor looks super nice. I didn't call to speak to the receptionist but I guess I will. Perhaps it is $50 cheaper, perhaps more expensive than anyone else?!

You don't have to wait for them to request your meds, right? I was going to do it right before sending. From what I've heard you can save some time by submitting them before they ask. Maybe I am confused?

Wow! From what you are all saying I'm going to do some more shopping around to see if I can save myself some money.
