Is there timeline for sending passports for stamping?

Hi,
If anyone could help me on THIS: Very Urgent!

I am currently in USA, and had applied for Canadian PR from India in May 2009 thru agency.
I have done my medicals here, and just a ady ago have been asked to send the passports of myself and family for stamping to Delhi.
Now problem is it seems I cannot courier passports to India. So after much thought, seems like my spouse needs to travel back to India to complete stamping work.

So main concern, is there a timeline by which the passports need to reach CHC Delhi?As I need time to book tickets.
And my passport can be carried by my spouse with no problems right?

The PPR request letter should show the allowed time limit. If not usually it is 30 days.
I think your spouce is the only reliable person with whom your PP can be sent out of the country. Still for safety, make a letter authorising her to carry your passport on behalf of you, for visa stamping purpose....(required to show any one only if necessary to do so ).
Let her to keep it secured inside her baggage seperately and not with the other pasports while travelling.
