No.

@PMM

1. coz my relatives said that i have to keep my receipts from the items i bought, like electronics, bags, clothes. bec i need those receipts to get tax return, im not sure if "tax return" is the correct term.

2. so this tax return is not applied on room rental, right? just want a confirmation so i dont have to call my landlord. :)

1. Your relatives are wrong, there used to be a GST rebate for visitors to Canada, but that is long gone.

oh really, then all my receipts are a waste, and even my housemate is saying that we will get something when we showed them our receipts.
that's why he is worried he didnt got any receipt from landlord. :D

Yes it's gone.

My husband got me a laptop from Canada. Be had printed the forms and all necessary docz. Unfortunately at airport they said that they no more give tax refunds.

I don't know about the tax refunds. But you should ideally be keeping your rental receipts. You may need them when looking for a new apartment to prove your good rental history.

Insist you landlord on issuing you a receipt. You may have no proof of payment, in case a dispute arises.

Yes, visitors who are allowed to study.

so.. when will our status change from "visitors" to another? if we get PR or when we get PGWP?

When you get PGWP you will be "visitors who are allowed to work for a period of time"

Immigrants are divided into two catageories in Canada
1. Permenant Residents---Those who have PR and Citizenship
2.Temporary Residents--Everyone besides the above
