Is there anyone who got accepted in NAIT after being waitlisted??

Hi, if anyone got admission in NAIT, Edmonton after being put on a waitlist please tell me and also after how much time?? I applied in Electronics Engineering Tech. and now I have been put on a waitlist. I have no idea how much time NAIT's gonna take to tell me the final decision. I cannot decide if I should forget about NAIT and pay the fee of some other college or wait. Please help me...

So there are only two ways either competitive and accepted or not competitive and rejected, isn't that right?

i'm also applying for this program as my second choice, my first choice is electrical engineering technology, but the assessment isn't completed yet in spite of the deadline on portal for the assessment is August 25.

Yes, it is a competitive entrance program but the description in My Nait Portal is "Program Full: Waitlist". It means if somebody drops class then I can get in. But this is damn confusing. It would have been fine if I had got an answer in Yes or No but I'm stuck in the middle. Don't know what to do.

I think this needs clarification from them, your status should be either:

1- Non-Competitive Waitlisted: while you have met the minimum entrance requirements for the program, you have not met the competitive entrance requirements. Competitive applicants will be admitted first and non-competitive applicants are accepted if there is space. You will be notified through MyNAIT portal if you receive an offer of admission.

2-Full Acceptance: you have been accepted into the program of your choice. To accept your offer of admission, you must pay the non-refundable tuition deposit by the deadline indicated in your MyNAIT Portal.

If the admission system is "Competitive entrance" this means that they accept the applications in a limited period then after this period they stop receiving applications and then they start to choose the best from these applications. So there's no chance to say the program is full.

But if the admission is "First-qualified, first-admitted" then this means that if you met the admission requirements then you will be accepted, so it may happen that they say the program is full.

I have submitted the online application on July 11, and paid the assessment fee on July 21 and they haven't completed the assessment till now, and this is really weird.

Yes, this NAIT system is really confusing and damn slow. It's a good institution but still they take like zillion years to complete the application process. Ok, I am exaggerating a bit but still 3 months is still such a long time.Then, after such a long wait u r not given a clear verdict. This system has really tested my patience.

The academic requirements are outstanding because our document assessment is not yet complete - that usually takes about six weeks -
Your document assessment will likely take about two more weeks to complete

2- September 5
An international document assessment can take anywhere between 6-10 weeks to complete at this time of year from the day that you paid the $75 fee, which was July 21st.

3-September 19
Assessments for students applying for January, that were due in late August/early September, did get delayed while they focused on the September intake. It should be finished by the end of this month.

4-September 24
Your application status indicates that a decision should be made by October 8, 2014.

5-October 2
In reviewing your application, I can confirm that you will be able to view your assessment as it indicates that your assessment will be completed by October 8, 2014.

6-October 9
They have told me that those (such as your self) who have outstanding items like the assessment should see them on their portals by the end of this week or the beginning of next week.
I am sorry that it is taking longer than expected. We have received a much higher than normal applications for this time of year, higher by 50%.)

Well, this explains that they are actually quite confused themselves. Its already October and I still have to apply for a study permit. It is delayed just because of such slow processing of NAIT.
And btw is your assessment complete??

Not yet, the problem is i have offers from other colleges(confederation & Algonquin), and i have to pay the tuition deposit in any of these colleges before Nov 1 or my offer will be cancelled. I don't know what i have to do now!

Same here! I've also got offer letter from Centennial College...which was my second option. I'll have to pay the fee in first week of November...I hope Nait accepts me before the beginning of November.

let's hope for the best, But from your point of view if i have to choose between (confederation & Algonquin) which one to choose?

i got accepted in computer engineering technology and was not put on waitlist .. as i had applied for the two programs .
1. electrical engineering technology
2. computer engineering technology

though i am on waitlist till now for electrical engineering bt accepted in computer one's ..

and i had got offer letter for it as well ..
