Who said that unjustified long wait time is fair to anybody? I feel for all of those who are suffering from IRCC’s poor processing procedure. No matter if it’s 9 months or 3 years.
You may think it's unjustified, but the fact is there is always another side to the story. IRCC only have a few thousand case officers processing 2 MILLION+ APPLICATIONS.
I don't think you appreciate how much they have to keep up with - ever increasing economic immigration targets and spousal visa cases, tens of thousands of refugee and protected status applications, hundreds of thousands of work permit applications, highly complex and urgent categories such as Afghans and Ukrainians. Every time they seem to be getting a handle on things, the Minister makes a bomb-shell announcement of (very generously) admitting more refugees from countries who just cannot get their shit together. And they have to do this all while ensuring they don't admit anyone to Canada who is terrorist, gangster, rapist, liar, spy or public safety risk.
Imagine how many bullshit applications they have to sort through. Fake BS marriages, people who con their education certificates and make up fake jobs and identities, thieves and scumbags with hidden criminal histories, losers who who defraud the government by getting friends to make up jobs in Canada for them. This is all while trying to manage complex exercises like obtaining security information on applicants from extremely bureaucratic organizations like CSIS, Homeland Security, MI6 etc.
It's not unreasonable that so many cases were delayed as IRCC had to change the whole way they operate, officers getting sick from COVID, all the mandatory protocols they put in place, and the fact other agencies around the world had to do the same which compounded the delay.
I get that it sucks waiting for years, but IMO the only people who have a right to complain are the outland applicants who have been waiting since COVID and before, and temporary residents who have been stressing over an uncertain future (PGWP etc.).
You're a CEC applicant who sounds like your application is well on track and have will only need to wait a few months longer than the 6-month SLA. I think most people wish they had your problem as you're the one whose CoPR is going to get fast tracked. I have to wait potentially 15 months just for an AoR.
You need some perspective bud, no offence.
