You can apply from the US, and then submit a CSE informing IRCC about the change in your address. That is probably the best way to go about it. It is fairly similar to how I did it (I initiated the process in the US, but went through the rest of it in India).
There should be no difference in the processing time.

Just send them a CSE as soon as you can (preferably now), informing them of the change of address, and also, equally importantly, of the date of the change in address.
I cannot tell you how many days CIC will take to update your VO, unfortunately.

According to the CIC/IRCC website, you just have to tell your VO:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/change-address.asp

You can (should) only do this once the application is actually submitted.

Hello, did you PR application receive approval in spite of the address change post AOR? I am in the same boat and I am currently faced with the decision of staying in the US vs returning to my home country. My US visa status will expire in 3 weeks and am I currently on day 73 post AOR (BG status in mycic is "not needed at this time"). I don't want to over stay in the US as I am not sure how this will affect my PR application, and I also do not want to jeopardize re-entry into the US at a later stage. However, I fear a change of address mid application might have worse effects on my PR application processing time and even approval. Any and all advice is welcome! Thanks!!

just do a CSE for the new address.

and changing address will not affect processing time.
if required they will move your case to local embassy.

it all depends on them as someone gets approved in 2 months and some not even in 6 months.

so dont worry about it. dont overstay just raise a CSE when you move back.

Well, my application at the time was a PNP application.
Anyway, don't overstay- just move back to your home country, and then raise a CSE with your new address. It will not change anything to do with your application.

yes you can definitely apply from usa, it will more impact on your files, and cases from usa are processed faster as compared to india, the slowest processing time is from pakistan

Hi All - I am trying to update the address from Canada to India as i will be traveling to India by this month end.
I am using CSE link : https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx

In the enquiry section there is option to select Type of application:. What should i select ...either Express entry or Address change

Please suggest
