Okay, lol, next question: Does anyone know if there is an FBI Channeler in (or near) Toronto? Or are they all in the States?

You may want to check the rules for Channellers.....It looks like the Channeler has to be FBI approved now and all they are going to do is take your info and send it to the FBI...for a long time CIC did not accept anything from a Channeller and sent the application back...heres the link just incase...and this one id dated May 2016...http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/north-america/united-states.asp

This link takes you to CIC procedures for getting FBI Clearance. In there, under Option 2, there is a link that takes you to the Channeler area of the FBI website. From there, there is a link on the right-hand side of the page that gives you a list of FBI Approved Channelers. If you click on that "List" link, it takes you to a page, with about 20 links to the FBI's Approved Channelers. All I was wondering, is if anyone has painstakingly clicked on all of these links, and found a location in Toronto. As of the moment, Channelers are allowed, again. Likely, due to the huge backlog for these things the FBI has right now. So, the list of FBI Approved Channelers IS available on the FBI website--has anyone found a location from that list in Toronto?

Not sure if there is one in Toronto. Probably not. Note that channelers only provide that service to US citizens and US permanent residents.

Yes, true--which my husband is a US citizen. We were just wondering if he HAS to do this before he comes back from the US, or if it can be done here, after he gets back. That is all ;D

He just needs to find a place to have his fingerprints taken, and placed onto the FBI FD-258 card. He then sends that to the Channeler, along with their application and payment. The only caveat is that they may not send the FBI IHSR letter to an address outside of the U.S., so he'd have to have it sent to a friend/family member who could then forward it to his address in Canada.
