Is there a way to bypass the IELTS exam?

I'm an Australian living and working in Toronto. I did the English test with CELPIP. I highly recommend them. I know many people say good things about IELTS as well.

The thing is without doing the test you can't create an Express Entry profile.

From what I am seeing, the CELPIP is equivalent to the IELTS. Just to confirm, taking the CELPIP would allow me to apply for Express Entry, is that correct?

Because I am a slow writer, so having the ability to type would help a lot!

Haha, yes. CELPIP is more convenient too because the scores directly correspond to the Canadian Language Benchmarks.
