Hello,

I'm 34years old, I used to leave in the usa for 6 years, but I have just returned to my home country last month .I would like to go to canada to take 1year welding course . Is there a chance to get a student visa if I have no wife or children back home. I have some money saved, apartment but no job,as i want to study in canada .

Thank you,

If your previous highest diploma has something to do with the program you are choosing it would be a good thing.
Also make sure to get a Letter of Acceptance from the college you are applying for.

I would suggest applying taking an IELTS General Test and applying for a CIC - Trades PR Program.
It would suit your profile.

Have a look at this..
This will get you a PR for Canada.

For your case it might be a little tricky for the VO to understand that you will actually come back after studies. You have already been staying as a worker in the US for so long.

Its better to file for a PR Visa upfront and this would take about an year or so usually to get ur PR but atleast u will get ur PR from your homeland only and then u can travel to canada n work there..

Hope this helps..
All the best..

the problem is you need to have a employment offer, and I really doubt that any employer would wait one year for a worker from overseas,

In regards to trades program,
