Hi All,

I have a question, I worked as a part time (15hours/week) RA from 2017.2.24 to 2017.8.25. and then I worked as a full time job (37.5hours/week) from 2017.09.11 till now.

Just want to know if the over time work, 7.5 hours per week are counted in CEC

As far as I am aware you can count those hours but it doesn't remove the requirements for the full 52 weeks minimum.

Thank you for the answer. Could you advise how to calculate 52 weeks? Does my situation meet the requirements of 52 weeks?

Here's how you calculate the 52 weeks.

For each week where you worked 30 hours or more - count it as 1 week
For each week where you worked fewer than 30 hours - add up the total number of hours and divide by 30
Add the two numbers above together - the total must equal 52 or more

Hi folks. Hope you are enjoying spring. One question is that I am gonna work first 6 week as a full time(35-40hrs) as I got hired as a regular part time basis of 45 hrs/ bi-weekly, Can I count this 6 week as a full-time or not for CEC?

1, You count the hours worked, until you have equivalence of 1 year full time

Hi,
I'm a geologist working in a gold mine in northern Quebec. I live in Ottawa, Ontario. And since the mine is in the middle of nowhere (as basically most mines in Canada), Our schedule is a little different than normal. I think it is unofficially called Fly-in-fly-out schedule.

I'm a full-time Employee with benefits. I got hired on May 15th, 2018, so I'm completing one year very soon. However, I'm on a rotational schedule of fifteen (15) days on – thirteen (13) days off - be at work on Wednesday and be off on the third Thursday. The standard hours of work is 10 hours a day. As of May 15th, 2019, I will have worked approx. 2,240 hours.

So based on that rotational schedule, there is always one week (out of 4) of the month that I am off. So If I do the math based on the 3 weeks of work and the "30 hours max"; I will end up with 1173 hours only and "short" 12 weeks.

Again, I'm a fulltime employee with benefits and a stable constant salary that never changes no matter how my rotation is managed. I got my contract and a letter from work that can prove that as well and clearly indicates that I'm a full-time employee and that I started my Job on May 15th. And please remember that it is a remote job, It is an 11 hours drive to get to work and it is in the middle of the woods of northern Quebec.

So I'm confused and worried. Please, help

I worked 8 hours per day every week so it is 40 hours per week (5 days work)

If i took one day off for the past 52 weeks, I still have 8hr x 4 days = 32 hours per week, it is still count as a full week right?

Let's say May 1st is my 365 days of staying in the company, is May 1st consider my full year or May 2nd?

thanks

Answer is NO, you can count a max of 30h/week. Regardless, you should only count hours when they are below 30 h/week, if it's more just assume they are worth just 30. That way you will always need at least 52 weeks to complete the year.
