Yes, and it must be at least the median wage.

thank you for the answer!

Do you think 2 dollars lower than the median it will cause a problem?
It is only 2 dollars lower.

I think that they would stick with the published figures. Have you actually looked at the wage level for that NOC in that area?

yeah, i heard of one that was declined as the applicant earned 50c less than the median wage. Now obviously a lot of it comes down to the specific officer who's looking at the application, but these things are hard enough to get, don't give them a reason to decline you.

median is $22.5 and my wage is $20

Is this a big problem?
Yes, I think that will kill your chances.. It's more than 10% down.

Wages, Working Conditions and Occupations
Employers applying for a labour market impact assessment (LMIA) must pay the TFW:

at a minimum, the posted prevailing wage for the occupation and work location where the TFW will be employed; OR
a wage that is within the same wage range that they are paying their current employees working in the same occupation and same work location, if this range is higher than the prevailing wage.
Employers must refer to the median wage published on Job Bank to determine the prevailing wage.

I don't really get what you mean... if you currently earn $20 an hour, to get $22.50 an hour next month your boss needs to give you a raise. I don't know how you can just take it next month?

So? If I take next month median wage I will be ok?

oh right, well then what you have to do is advertise the job with the median wage.
When the LMIA application is submitted it needs to state that the wage matches the median wage.
then once you get a work permit off the LMIA you need to be earning the median from then on. the company will get audited at some point in the future and if you're not earning the wage stated on the applications, the LMIA can be revoked and a shit ton of trouble for the company.

Great Advice thank you!

The company will not have problem then because I will officially take the median at any time audited by government.

Is there something else I have to pay attention except from median wage in order to get a positive lmia?

ha ok, you need to be earning the median all the time once you get the work permit off of an LMIA. they can do a random check and they'll be looking at all records, not just a specific month.
