Hi,

My application under IT is actually from August 2000 till March 2010 when I sent my application to the CIO office in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Just wondering is the Visa strict on the exact 10 years and will they request experience from at leastl March 2000 ?

..or by year i.e. anytime from 2000 to 2010 be sufficient ?

thanks,
K

details are last 10 years of employment is the requirement. Your details are marginally short of that time period. If VO will require details from march to aug he will ask for that.

Hi,

ok, thanks for the note. I will just send in my previous experience(notarised employment contract) which is from 1997 till July 2000, but which is in a different NOC category 2133. I've already obtained my reference letter from employers from Aug 2000 till current. Hopefully that will be sufficient ?

thanks,
K

hi Jes_on,

hru..couple questions for you guys.

1. if i work 39 hrs p/week it means that i have worked 1872 hrs per/year..as 39*4=156 and 156*12=1872 so it means i donot fullfill the 1950 hrs per/year criteria then how to justify it..

2. I already have 19 points for three years exp. but i also have 1 year part-time and 8 months full time exp. as per noc catagory both are at diff. times.how would CHC would ward me points for these experiences.

kindly advise
cheers

Sorry, I double checked: Here's what it says in EG7 document - you can get this from the CIC website:

All applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to apply as a skilled worker:  You must have at least one continuous year of full-time, paid work experience or the equivalent in part-time continuous employment  You must have had this experience within the last 10 years  Your work experience must be Skill Type 0 (managerial occupations) or Skill Level A (professional occupations) or B (technical occupations and skilled trades) on the Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC)

So part time is acceptable - but you have to calculate and see how much time is spent if you "convert" it to full time hours. Calculate it to 37.5 hours per week.
