Is the Pre arrival service mandatory?

My wife got her PPR and a pre arrival service email yesterday and we were wonrdering if she needs to do the pre arrival service before leaving. i read that they will stamp your passport? i also read that it's not needed so we don't know what to do. Thank you!

Everyone is different we received a letter and pics. Who knows! Youll have to wait and see
