well, i think senior staff is not working and junior staff is doing their job without having any much experience. They don't want to take any risk and rejecting visas for small reasons. We need senior staff here with their full experience. I think so ...

Actually you have it backwards, it is the Senior officers who were "deemed essential" and are working and the junior officers are on strike, in most instances.

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if the strike has effected their visa application and caused any delays, etc? I am a journalism student in Canada and I'm doing an assignment on the effect of the strike on International students. Any help would be great! Thanks!
