Hi, even though the checklist says that send a max of 20 photographs, but even after shortlisting many iterations, I couldn't decrease the list to less than 42 photographs, which I'm putting on a word document with 2 photographs per page. Can sending these many photographs negatively impact my application?

Thanks in advance.
Joy

If the checklist says 20, send 20. They will let you know if they need more.

Thanks Addus for quick response.
How many did you send? And how much did the checklist suggest to send when you applied?
I sent around 15, and it was max 20 at the time as well.

Send 20. Everyone has thousands of photos they could send and we all brought them down to 20 - you can as well. Think quality over quantity. Show passage of time, important events, some pictures with friends and family as well if you have them.

ok thanks. Did the checklist change recently? Because many of my friends and relatives told that they have sent 50-60 photographs, which confused me!

They introduced changes into the process a few years ago. There used to be no real limit, now there is.

Please do not over load your application with photos. Only send what is asked. If they need more they will ask.

The new rules started in December 2016, for maximum of 20 photographs as a proof of relationship.

I combined 4 pics in one pic and then sent it ...this way I was able to send 40 pics by still only sending 20 hard copies
So far no problem I had due to this

I only sent 14 pics and I got my PR last year. only took 10 months for mine to be finalized. I don't even put any fb conversation/pages. Its the quality not the quantity for sure.

I sent 20 photos and no fb or any social media because i am not on any of those and , i was wondering if thats gonna be a red flag for them?

I won't worry about it really. I don't think it will cause any red flags. As long as any formal cohabitation proofs are included/enough (Rental agreement, government id shows same address, pay stub showing same address, any government letters to you showing same address, Joint account of debit/credit card, bills, then the kind of informal supportive proof won't cause you any problems. As i said its the quality of your application.
