Hello guys.Am in Dubai.I really want to go to canada as soon as possible.I dont know how express entry is working but dont want to wait forever here so i thought school would get me faster there. The immigration agents here aren't straight.

I got a second class lower so getting Masters admission is hard so i have opted for another degree and while in canada switch to something different and also apply for residency while there.

Am making an application at University of Saskatchewan’s.

Please Advise

Hello sheR2016, getting the student visa is by far the easiest one to get, after tourist visa, as far as I know.

However, unlike other ways to get into Canada, tuition fees is an additional cost, which makes this option costlier than others.

If you study in any of the post secondary public schools in Canada, you get a post graduation work permit. If your study period is 8 months to one year, you get an open work permit of equivalent duration. If your course is 2 years, you get a work permit of 3 years.

If you get a job after graduation, you will be eligible for several immigration programs after a year of full time work.

And the best part is, you won't need any immigration consultants.

Hope this helps. All the best

hi ashutoshmanohar.

Thank you for the feedback.

So school is the easiest and fastest way?Can i transfer schools once i join?
Can i apply for residency visa while am still in school?I graduated with BBA finance and accounting bt second class lower.
Are there schools that offer pre masters program?

My aim is to get there and apply for residency visa while there and also look for a job in Edmonton or Ontario.

thanks

A small correction to "ashutoshmanohar post", in regards to getting a job after graduation and being eligible for PR after 1yr,doing this will only make u eligible under the CEC stream. U will not be eligible for a PR application unless u get an ITA (Average score for yong applicants with 1yr experience, good english skills and a 2yr course in Canada is arnd 400-420. The least CRS score selected so far is 453)

Ur PR process will be easy only if you, have a job offer with a LMIA(to get an LMIA ur employer has to fill in a 15-20 page document and also has to pay for the application). The new EE process just complicates things for students. Other option is to qualify for PNP.

8months to 1yr course - 1yr PGWP
2yrs to 3yrs course - 3 yr PGWP

Without a LMIA or PNP,it is not easy to get a PR status in Canada.

-Switching schools will not be an issue. But there are chances u will not get ur 1sem fees refunded if you switch schools, this depends on the schools policy ( to get a SP it is preferable to pay ur 1sem fees)
- Applying for PR depends on your past experience(at least 1yr required),education & skills levels, when ur in school. CIC doesn't stop people on SP to apply for a PR ( On the otherhand, most of the provinces don't qualify a student for a PNP application, until u finish studies and have a job offer)
- Ontario accepts application with CRS of 400 points and over for a PNP application
- There are schools that offer pre-master programs

The quickest way to get into Canada is the tourist visa for sure.

The quickest way to get PR is by applying under EE as CEC/FSWP with a 450+ score for now (PNP takes longer because there is an additional barrier in place with the province taking time to nominate an applicant) - There are people on this forum who have never been to Canada and still are in the process of getting their PPRs in a matter of 2-4 months from the time of creating their application ! I doubt if any other 1st world destination is this proactive and quick about getting skilled immigrants.

Can any one guide to get admission in any Canadian school for graduation/master program?
Contact the school you wish to apply. Then apply student visa after you get your admission confirmation letter.

Btw, why is this in Express entry forum?
