Project management is used in IT firms too..but mostly IT firms uses PRINCE 2..Project Management in Canada focus on PMI project management concept which is widely used in construction and oil field..
It would be beneficial if you have any Work experience in any company where you know what project management is ?.. otherwise it is not suggested to start with that course as its is highly regarded.
Take up a masters Degree or something that is a starting step to this program management course ,
