I have spent the past 5 years in Canda studying and then working.. Do ineed to arrange a police certificate from Canada as well or just the other countries I have lived in for more than 6 months??

You dont need PCC if you are applying for Canada.

If you are in Canada now then you don't need to provide them the police certificate for Canada at this moment
However CIC has the right to ask you to get one later if they think it is necessary

Guys do we need police certificate for all the cities in which we have lived for more than 6 months??

PCC is per country and not per cities.

Someone who has migrated to canada told me that we need PCC for all the cities in which we have lived in a country.

I would check the CIC web site rather than listening to "someone".

You need Canadian PCC (police clearance). The law is, whatever country you live in more than 6 month, you need will need PCC. You can get Canadian PCC in just two hours! Make sure that you send all the papers together. It's better to send more info that less, that way you don't get into any trouble.

Good luck ;D

Yup, You don't need PCC at the time of application. Though, CIC might ask for it later in the process.

Also for other countries, it is for countries you lived in more than 6 consecutive months after you turn 18. Otherwise you don't need it at time of application. Again, CIC might ask for it anyway.
