Hi All,

Does anyone know if the off campus part time work experience is counted for CEC ?

Actually I have worked 12 months part time on off campus work permit and also have 4 months of full time work experience. If my part time work experience is counted then it makes 6 months. I am on PGWP and if I work full time for more two months, then it will be 12 months of work experience including my part time.

Am I eligible for CEC ?

I think CEC has to be full-time.

You need to meet these requirements to apply under the Canadian Experience Class. You must:

plan to live outside the province of Quebec
have at least 12 months of full-time (or an equal amount in part-time) skilled work experience in Canada in the three years before you apply,

I am sure they count part time, however my confusion and question basically is that.......does that has to be PGDP or off campus also fine ???

Off-campus doesn't count. Any work done during your studies can't be counted.

The rules are here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op25a-eng.pdf Section 6.3

Thanks a ton for reply.

I read information on the given link, I can not see anywhere written that only post graduation work is taken in to account and work experience during the studies is not counted.

My sincere apologies.. When I pasted the link, it, for some reason, left out the "a". I have corrected the link to the updated document at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op25a-eng.pdf (Still Section 6.3)

For a student who had graduated from a Canadian post-secondary institution, only work
experience gained after graduation will count towards meeting the work experience
requirement (e.g. post-graduate work permit).

in section 6.3 is
For a student who had graduated from a Canadian post-secondary institution, only work
experience gained after graduation will count towards meeting the work experience
requirement (

Indeed, you did. Haha.
But let me quote it again,

requirement (e.g. post-graduate work permit).

LOL some people are just out there... way out there.

Correct. Part time can be counted and YES, it has to be on PGWP, on- or off-campus experience can't be counted.
