Really? Did your manager attach his/her business card?
This is what I did.
1. I attached a copy of the email that I sent to my company asking for a reference letter and their reply saying they won't be able to provide.
2. Letter from my supervisor (not on letter company head)
3. A copy of his Company ID card
4. A copy of my salary slip

Oh ok... My former colleague doesn’t have a company card, so I had to get her paystub and get the letter notarized. Hopefully that will work, still stuck at the MEP :/

The majority of verification starts on the internet yes. That's how they did mine and lots of others' that I know. The more additional documents you submit to show your employment, the less likely they are to contact your employer for verification. I submitted:
- Reference letter
- Promotion letter
- Contract extracts for some jobs
- Manager's business card for every job
- My LinkedIn and my managers' LinkedIn profiles
- Work visa copies (I worked in Dubai)
- Payslips
- Salary deposits into my account

I got my PPR in about 80 days (FSW Outland). Regardless of my security check, I believe this help speed up my eligibility verification, but it could always be something else. Which is why I try to tell people to provide similar types of documents (only if they can).
Do I need to show banki statement for salary for last six month or for whole period?

Should I get my reference letter notarised
It is not a big issue for me ?
It will add authenticity to it!!
