I was in Spain in year 2009 and before I left the country I took a Police Clearance Certificate and it says that it has been issued for Visa to USA. I had to write some country name as that could not have been left blank and I just put USA when asked to do so at the counter.

I have not gone back again to Spain.

My Questions:
1) Do I need to get a fresh PCC?. If I have not stayed in the country after 2009, is there really merit in seeking a new PCC? The PCC does not carry any expiration date on the document, it says that no record exists as on the date of issue.

2) Would the country name "USA" really make the PCC invalid...the police records do not change based on desired country of visit!

Thanks.

Yes - you need a new PCC. It doesn't matter that it has no expiration date. CIC will only accept PCCs that have been issued within three months.

You MUST obtain a new PCC. CIC will reject any that were issued more than 3 months before they receive it.

Hi,

I've also lived in Spain from 2007-2008 and I currently live in Dubai.

Where can I get the PCC done for Spain and how long does the entire process take?

Thanks

by the way, i got a clarification from embassy in my specific case (may not hold for other countries) that if a person has not traveled to that country, old PCC will do.
