Is my pgwp going to be rejected?

Hey! So this is my last semester in school and I’ve got a part time job at an investment bank. For the last two weeks, I worked over the 20 hour limit, 25 and 27 hours respectively. So 12 hours of unauthorized work. And the third week, I worked 20 hours because as soon as I found out about the 20 hour work limit, I contacted my boss and explained to her. Will my pgwp be rejected or in jeopardy because of the 12 hour unauthorized work.

I plan to stop working as soon as I receive my Credential letter from school and apply for the pgwp. And write an explaination/apology letter.

2 weeks is not gonna harm you , writing an explanation for it .. cic will laugh at you imo + cic doesn’t have your information for worked hrs…but if you want go ahead… make sure u contact an immigration lawyer…he can guide u better

Agree as long as you are honest and correct the error then you should be fine. A small error like this is viewed as a simple mistake. Would include a simple apology for your actions during the 2 weeks and include that as soon as you discovered the 20 hour limit you took steps to correct the situation. You may want to even include proof that you notified your boss as soon as you discovered that you must only work 20 hours. Longterm breaking the 20 hours especially when you were aware of the limit and often prioritizing work over studies (like low grades and missing classes) tend to be the cases that face consequences.

Okay! Because I was talking to my school’s advisors and one of them said it will definitely affect my pgwp and that got me worried. But the other advisor said an explanation would suffice. So it was kinda contradicting. But thank you!

You should be fine, as others have explained, write a small LOE.
You won't be rejected, we've seen people who worked unauthorized for few weeks and were approved. Just be upfront and explain your situation.
