Hi friends,

i am thinking to apply for study visa in general category by myself. I have on query i.e Is it compulsory to show loan equivalent to $10000 plus first year tuition fees????

my application was refused earlier in spp, i have GIC account and i have paid my full year tution fees to the institute. will GIC work ??

its not necessary if u show sufficient amount of funds..one guy on this forum got visa without taking loan or GIC..even i applied without loan and GIC, waiting for visa

no need for loan if u have enough funds in your bank account.

If you have not refunded your GIC than thats good. Loan is not mendatory you can also use GIC. :)

Under SPP, GIC is mandatory. Under general it's optional. As you have GIC which is valid for good one year irrespective of the fact that you change your college/uni in your second application. You have also paid full year fee. Hence, now you all you need to do is ;

1. GIC,

2. Tuition Fee (letter of acceptance from college/uni)

3. Medical which you already have (and is valid for 1 year)

4. IELTS which you already have (valid for 2 years)

5. educational documents

6. Work experience docs if any

7. Passport

8. SOP (prepare sop accordingly if you know the rejection reasons)

Now, what also you can and you should attach (which is not required in SPP);

1. financial documents (bank statements, ITR of self and parents, property papers)

Above all, I would suggest you to first find out the exact reason of rejection and prepare your file accordingly.

Best of luck.

Hi there,

GIC will definitely work. I got my visa under General and only submitted GIC and receipt of payment for the first full year tuition fees in terms of financial docs. No need to send any other financial documents to complicate the issue as they are looking to see if you can pay the tuition fees and cover living expenses of $10,000.

hey....

So im in the process of applying for a GIC and am planning to apply under General category. My question is that can I give the GIC and show my dad as sponsor and provide his financial credentials but not give receipt of first sem fees as i wont be paying that before landing in canada. so will GIC and my dads credentials or ONLY my dads credentials ( along with sponsor letter in both cases) be sufficient?

hey so i can either 1. Give GIC and show fathers funds by way of bank statements showing the rest 1 yr tuition amount; OR 2. Show ONLY fathers bank statements showing the 10,000+ 1 yr tuition. But either ways, in general category applications, I DON'T need to pay tuition fees in advance right?

Also, my second question is this: my Humber LOA says i must pay 1 yr fees by 13th November, 2013. So say if i get my study permit prior to 13th november WITHOUT paying fees, and land at POE in january (as thats when the course starts), will they there ask me for a receipt or other proof of payment of tuition fees?????

The deal is I intend changing colleges after study permit approval, and chances of visa on basis of second college LOA are less as its course regression.......so thats why! PLZ PLZ HELP!

thank u for ur patient audience but i need another clarification.

Under the second question, Ill be landing at POE without paying the tuition fees AT ALL as im planning to switch colleges once there. so is there still probability that receipt of payment of tuition fees may be asked?

also, do i need to answer in my General permit application as to why i havent paid my tuition fees yet?
