is LMIA certificate necessary for getting 600 points

My husband is getting an intracompany transfer from US to Canada and we will be applying for PR from Canada. My husband's company has said that LMIA is not necessary for Intracompany transfer. So if we apply for PR , do we still have to obtain the certificate to get that additional 600 points?

An LMIA is not necessary for the transfer but to get the 600 points, his company would need to apply for an LMIA. My husband got an intra company transfer from the UK and still had to get the LMIA - the transfer alone does not give you the 600 points.

If he contacts his HR department, they will be able to apply for him. Just to let you know, my husbands took 5 months to be processed.

How about if somebody already working in canada for past 1 yr . Would he / she be able to get canadian experience points or does he / she would also require LMIA assessment in order to earn exp. Points ?

600 points OP asked for is for LMIA....Canadian experience points are different and are mutually exclusive...i mean you can have LMIA points but no canadian exp points or vice versa.

What you probably mean to say is that they are completely independent of each other. You can receive points for Canadian experience, for an LMIA, or both.

Yes, you will get points for Canadian experience. We've explained this to you before.

LMIA has nothing to do with getting points for Canadian experience.
