Hi everyone,,
I can not decide that I should move to Canada for study masters in computer science or stay in Indian and continue working as Software engineer.
I'm a software engineer and earning around 8 lakh per annum. As of now it is sufficient to enjoy life with that salary but I want to earn more and for that reason I m thinking to go to CANADA. Unfortunately, PR is not possible so I'm thinking of student visa.

Please guys i really need your suggestion

Thanks in advance

As I'm not good at English I could not socre 8777 in ielts.
I have heard from one of my friend who went to canada recently as student that my university is not in list of WES so they considers my masters as bachelor. Still I need to verify THIS.
but,, the most important point is I can not score 8777 in ielts. So I thought moving to Canada on student visa increase some point and then having job would also help in getting pr.

I think you should apply for Express Entry. Since you're earning, you may get some coaching and get your required IELTS score for smooth process. As you said you earn well in India and would have to start from scratch if you go to Canada on a study visa. I don't recommend it but it's entirely upto you. Excuse your friend, what do you want to do?

Coming to Canada will not guarantee you a high salary. You need to do some more research on your job prospects, the cost of living, whether you can adjust to the culture/weather etc.

Some people may be much happier earning 15 lakhs per annum in a smaller Indian city like Pune or Jaipur (smaller than Delhi and Mumbai I mean), rather than earning 30 lakhs per annum in Toronto. Your standard of living will be much higher in India because the cost of living is far less.

It's not a simple CAD - Rs conversion.

Thanks brother for your response. Sure, I'll do research about job opportunities and starting salary for international student.

What you are saying is absolutely right. I have heard from many of my other friends who studying in canada. They said that even if person is earning more than 50k then they should no come canads to earn more money.

Also, I have found that Canadian tax is really high. Almost 40%. I doubt if people can save more money after tax to pay loan amount.

Money shouldn't be the only reason to immigrate to another country. If it is, you are almost certain to be disappointed.

If you immigrate for a better life, where your definition of a better life includes a lot more than just money (lifestyle, clean air & water, cultural factors, opportunity .. everyone has their own reasons) then you will be far better equipped to deal with all the problems that come with immigrating. It's not a walk in the park to leave everything you know and move to a new country.

I started planing for canada with goal of earning more money in Canada and then coming back to India and open my own software business.

I want to go to Canada to earn more money and everything else is just secondary things for me.

You are right I think I should prepare again for ielts and should work hard to get desire band score and then apply for PR

Fair enough - just do your research so you have a clear idea of what you can expect in Canada.

I know a couple who came to the US and worked for ~6 years. They lived like paupers because they were saving every penny. Now they're back in India and have started an organic farm (I believe they already owned the land, but didn't have money to start a business). They seem very happy - they had a plan and they stuck it through.
