Hello,

Is it wise to apply TRV Six months in advance?
Our travel plan is scheduled in May 2017, but I wanted to apply for Visa now. Is it allowed?

You can apply up to six months in advance if your visa office allows it
Or more.

Many jobs ask employees to get TRVs without set dates in travel "just in case" it is needed. This is quite normal.

Of course you would have to give a convincing reason to do so.

Jalex23, what would be some common reasons? since I have collected & arranged my all documents in order to apply TRV & our planned trip was for Christmas holidays in Toronto. But now I am worried that the Visa officer might think why we intend to travel in harsh winter along with 3 kids. That's the reason I thought If I can schedule my trip on next year in April,2017. And submit the visa application with all supporting docs now itself. Hope you got the point :)
