They received my application on Nov 7th, NOC1311 (1 of the 6), so I am supposed to get FN/AOR around next week. Is it strange that they check my employment now? before everything?

No, not this early stage!

what does FN mean? Did u receive AOR? with in 1 month they called ur boss.. This is so strange..

Can you explain more what happened?

FN- File number

I don't think it is strange since the new rules effective from Nov 09 and your NOC code falls within one of the 6, though yours was received before that date. I think CIC is trying to speed up and be more efficient to examine the eligibility at the early stage before issuing the AOR.

But, it is not a bad thing, as long as you receive your AOR, likely your eligibility would have passed..

this is just my personal view! good luck!

How come they accepted your application? website says following NOC codes are not accepted by CEC.

Else you are lucky that as your application was received on NOV 7th which is falling before NOV 9th.. Lucky guy :)

As of November 9, 2013, work experience in the following National Occupation Classification (NOC) B occupations (listed with the corresponding NOC code) will not be accepted in the CEC:

Cooks (NOC 6322)
Food service supervisors (NOC 6311)
Administrative officers (NOC 1221)
Administrative assistants (NOC 1241)
Accounting technicians and bookkeepers (NOC 1311)
Retail sales supervisors (NOC 6211)

Yes, think that is why his boss got call before the AOR was issued, his app was received too close to the cut-off date, CIC cannot return his package, but they would perform strict scrutiny.

I do believe as long as you receive your AOR, you are likely on the safe side, so relax now and hope for the best!

Keep us posted when you receive your AOR.

All the best luck!

;)Thanks! Will do

congrats! First hurdle passed.

As I said, this might be a good sign that they called your employer at inital stage.

If I were you, I would order a GCMS notes around late Jan/early Feb to see if eligibility starts? it is free anyway..very curious to justify what I thought is correct or not.

I might be completely wrong, but it is no harm to order one anyway!

Congrats again and all the best luck! :)

As long as everything else is fine (Criminality, security, medicals) you will be fine. If they have called your employer prior to AOR they have completed eligibility check.
